I was just watching a video that discussed a scenario where and EMP struck and they lead character had to use their “get home bag” and walk home for a day.
Once he was home then he had to load up the family “bug-out bags” and then was faced with another 2-3 day walk with his family to get to their bugout location.
I also have been seeing people on various preparedness & survival groups talking about how rioting and looting is happening only blocks away from them and asking for advice on how to protect their families if it gets closer.
All of that made me wonder why more “preppers” aren’t living the homesteading life which I view as the ultimate in preparedness. You don’t have to move to the middle of nowhere to be a homesteader, you just need to move to a more rural community.
Have you been working on-line during the COVID quarantine? Then talk to your boss about continuing to do so once the business is back to usual. If that isn’t possible look, then look for jobs in the part of the country you wish to move to. Visit the area, talk to locals word of mouth is still a great way to find a job especially in small communities. You may have to take a pay cut, but if you look at your cost of living it probably doesn’t affect you nearly as much.
